About Danny McBee

To an optimist, I’m a polymath. To a pessimist, I’m a dilettante. I’ve been an investor for a decade and have helped invest over $1 billion. In that time, I have invested in and worked with companies from under $10M revenue to over $100M EBITDA, across consumer, healthcare, software, and industrial, in turnarounds and high growth situations.

From these varied experiences, one of my strengths is quickly getting up the learning curve on new markets and business models. And I’ve learned that so much of business is the same, regardless of the company: know your customers, attract and retain great people, make sure the unit economics work. Learn the details, identify a few priorities, and ruthlessly triage.
Like many polymaths and dilettantes, I started my career as a strategy consultant.

While at BCG, I learned to love the color green and make decent slides while working with Fortune 500 retail and healthcare businesses.

I graduated from Vassar College, where I met my wife, and Harvard Business School, where I met hundreds of people who are way smarter than me.

I’m a Vermont native, and therefore I have strong opinions on dairy products and beer. If I’m not at my desk, you can find me running, hiking, watching NASCAR or the Green Bay Packers.
